Significant Other Blogfest
Friday, January 21, 2011
Today is Talli and DL Hammons @ Cruising Altitude’s blogfest. The fest requires a loved one to either write a post or be interviewed about that loved one. I had to go for the later.
Ms. Twister was selected as my victim and I would like to give you some background. We have known each other since second grade. Have lived together for quite a while and are a true yen and yang combination; her being the yen.
She does laundry to my repairing toilets. A quite soul who reads anything she can get her hands on. Takes life in a “Come what may” sort of way and is truly the calm to my stormy personality.
The first three questions are required interview material and the rest I just made up in an email. Remember she is a world traveler now.
Q. What food or drink is guaranteed to return your loved one to a good mood, even after a bad day writing?
A hot cup of Joe and a hot bath to go with it. (Now if only her dog would not wash its ball in said bath)
Q. What one thing would you change about your others writing habits?
She has great writing habits and does most of it while I am in bed. I would like to be able to reduce her stress and afford the time needed to be creative. (I guess that means she will be learning to repair toilets.)
Q. How hard is it to sit by and watch someone you care for struggle to attain a dream...knowing there's very little you can do to help?
This is extremely hard knowing how talented she is. I wish for her that one break to share her talent with the world. (SHH, not share, sell)
Q. What do you enjoy best about your loved one’s writing?
The surprise endings and I get to relate to where some of the real stories come from. (Little does she know? She has been the MC of several)
Q. What happens when you have to interrupt the writing process?
I do not dare. However, if I have too, I try to make sure she is not in a fingers flying across the keyboard mode. (She use to stand in the hall to wake me up too)
Q. Can you describe your loved one’s mind set on any given day?
Always thinking, her mind never stops. Our conversations are never boring. (And I once had a healer refuse to put her hands back on my over active head)
Q. Where do their stories come from?
Life experiences, seen objects, and topics that stir passion. Like watching the news and seeing an injustice. (Which is why I’m not allowed to hold things and watch TV, ever tried to get PB&J off the thing?)
Q. What would you like the world to know about your loved one?
That she is a very caring and warm-hearted soul. Who is passionate and extremely intelligent. (Okay she is taking nerve pills in order to get through an oral presentation. I don’t think they have worn off)
Q. What are their best qualities? And worst?
The best are love, compassion, caring, honest and trustworthy. The worst is while in the middle of something and has a mind-set going; do not bother her. (In other words, I have a sensitive, anal personality.)
Q. If you could change one thing, what would it be?
I would not change a thing, well maybe her socks. (I told you, socks stay on until the flip flops come out.)
Thank you, Ms. Twister for answering my questions. I’m sure DL could have added a few more. The truth is I write when the voices in my head tell me to and no, they do not have indoor voices.
Thank you DL and Talli for hosting this fest. I do encourage everyone to visit the other entries, I am.
Have a great, safe weekend everyone.
Peace…

Aw, I enjoyed reading that (and your two cents along the way). I guess I missed the last few questions when I posted mine... oops.
Have a loely day to you and Ms. Twister! Thanks for sharing. :)
Thank you Ms. Twister! It was lovely reading how much you support and believes in Jules.
My significant other
Didn't realize we were supposed to do the questions! Oh well.
Great answers. And not, a woman's brain never shuts down.
Alex didn't do the questions! I'm gonna tell.
Delightful, with or without questions.
I would be afraid to interview my better half...
A great read--and very informative! I too have trouble changing my socks...:D
For the record...the questions were only mandatory if the writer decided to go the interview route. :)
This was great! Thank you Ms. Twister for giving us more insight about Jules. You did an excellent job.
What an excellent post Jules, I didn't enter as I haven't got another half,
Have a good week-end.
Yvonne.
Fun interview. But it's reminding me that I need to go change my socks... ;)
Loved reading this, dirty socks and all! :)
Thanks for taking part!
This is such an awesome idea! Nice to meet you Ms. Twister.
I enjoyed this! You can really hear kindred spirits when they speak. Thanks for sharing!
I can see how you both are besties, lovely interview!
Great post! I love the concept of interrupting a writer as potentially hazardous to one's health.
Dan - here's my wife's post.
This was fun to read! It's always interesting to learn more about a person through someone close to them. :-)
Love it!!
Aw that was so great! It's fun to hear about the bloggers from another perspective!
I need a change of socks too. Mine were mismatched yesterday.
A sensitive and anal personality? I can relate!
I am glad to see how much more upbeat you are again. Love the post and your comments. Somehow I was sure you wouldnt be stopped...
Awww, this was fantastic. I love how sweet and supportive Ms Twister is!
If all she wants to change is your socks, I'd say you've got a good match! Really sweet post.
Sweet post. It's always great to hear about people who support and compliment each other so well.
"The truth is I write when the voices in my head tell me to and no, they do not have indoor voices." I LOVE this line! May I quote you?!
Take the support anyway you can get it.
Great answers! This fest is proof to how badly we need support from our SO's!
Jules i think you had great questions. She sounds very supportive of you! I'm glad you have that! Have a wonderful day!
I don't know why, but I thought Miss Twister was an animal, like a cat, all this time. I'm thrilled that you have someone who cares about you. If I'd entered this blogfest, my husband would have belched, scratched his belly, yawned and utter, "Uh...I don't know." LOL

Sounds like a balanced and compatible relationship. I guess I need to check more of these blogfest entries.

Very cute! I loved the little retort after each answer :D
Sweet post! I loved reading it. :)
I loved the back and forth. Great interview!
Fun exchange! Socks stay on here until ... well, I don't wear flip flops, so let's just say April.
Hey Jules, glad you made it home safely with Ms. Twister. Did you end up with more snow?
I LOVE ME SOME FLIPFLOPS...until winter time.
And take it from someone with a sensitive nose, change the socks at least once a week!
Cathy @ Country Cathy
Great interview!! :)
I hate wearing socks - I take them off as soon as I come in the house :)
Great job; I love the warmth that came through in your words, the support of her dreams and the kindness n' respect~
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I seem to have missed you yesterday! You once had a healer refuse to put her hands back on your head? Seriously? Ha! Great interview!
...you're a sweetheart, Ms. Twister. Thanks so much for supporting a fellow writer in Jules. She's well deserving:)
