There is something definitely wrong with me and I know this why? It is not because some high charging medically educated person pointed this out. It is more that I have self diagnosed myself. Did I forget to tell you I was a doctor?

To realize all that is wrong with one’s self does not always require a medical professional, sometimes it just requires silence. I have experienced a ton of silence this month and the diagnosis?

Red Box of Death

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

I am extremely busy with my small architectural project and I did not have time for this. Apparently the "Red Box" of death is making another round through the blogosphere. I want you to know I will continue to follow everyone but ....

Until this situation has corrected its self I have removed the blog roll widget from my blog. It's not like I get a ton of comments anyway but to have my page display as if I have cooties is just down right wrong. I've never had cooties, fleas maybe but never cooties.

I must now return to pulling my hair out, one hair at a time. :)

Blogger Has me Tied Up

Friday, August 19, 2011

I am having major Blogger issues. I can compose text only posts, no photos, no comments. I have awards to answer and pictures to share but I have been hog tied.

I thought it was late night thing, I read several blogs yet could not comment. I came back EARLY this morning and still the problem has not corrected its self.

I am here and have been reading but my comments at the moment are not for sharing. Mary you will just have to wait for my answers. I'm working at correcting this situation but I fear blogger has other ideas.

Be back when things have corrected their self. I hope you understand and will bear with me in this time of technical difficulty. :)

Can You Hear Me Now?

Friday, March 11, 2011

Can You? Have you ever been in a situation where you, in your mind, were following a conversation only to be jolted by someone screaming, “Are you even listening?”

There is a study out there that suggests we are losing the art of real conversation. We have, in this modern age, taken the old phone company adage and changed it to read, “Let your fingers do the talking.” We converse via social media. However, it is not the lost art of conversation that bothers me but rather the dulling of our senses.

Sunday Questionnaire

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Do not just read the snippet in the dashboard preview; come on over and look. I have been telling you and myself I needed to change things up here a bit and now I have. See anything different?

Yes, I have been too sick to write but not to sick to code, go figure. Have you noticed the new layout? Notice my new buttons? I’m really proud of these because I’m no coder.

This being Sunday I’d like to give you my sermon for the day, Flu Shots. If you have not gotten yours, now is the time. I cannot take flu shots due to an egg allergy, and thus have the flu.

One of the scariest books I have ever read was “The Coming Plaques,” and the worst plaque of all is the flu. Adapt and survive little bugger, get a FLU SHOT! Otherwise you will end up like me, wrapped like a mummy with a bright red nose, sounding like a foghorn and consuming bourbon by the gallon. (Medicine you know.)

Now my goal is to for later today to do some writing. In the mean time I wanted to put this post up so you guys would not freak out. I need and want feedback. What do you think? Is this better or worse? Is it easier to find things? Please test drive this thing and tell me, lemon or peach?

Until later my friends… Blessed Sunday to you.

Magic Shoes

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

We all loved "Back to the Future," didn't we? All those cool futuristic gadgets, cars that ran on trash, just a world of imagination, not real. Uh uh! Sometimes things actually do come true.

Okay I was not going to do a post today but this young lady just inspired me! You all know how I love my Grandmother, you know she is 91 and has trouble with so many things we take for granted, just a fact of getting old. I am happy to report there is someone else who feels the same. Except she did something.

The inventor of these laces has a grandmother whom suffers from Parkinson Disease and has trouble tying her shoes, so in steps a grand daughter. I see this as a real marvel for the elderly.

Often they are forced to wear ugly Velcro shoes or must wait until someone helps them just put shoes on. The fact that they are elderly often means they cannot tie things properly and are susceptible to tripping.

I just wanted to share this video, so enjoy. Now I have to figure out how to get my grandmother to wear these magic shoes. I can hear her now, "those are too flashy and what other colors do they come in?" :D

I like the light on the top also. Sort of a shoe night light. Can you imagine all these 90+ people running around in these.....I can!

Peace....

Do You Have An Evil Screen?

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Standing, peering out the back door sipping coffee came the visualization she had beaten the sun. The sun, turning and opening one eye was just now beginning to play tricks with shadows of the light; it was not awake. “Oh you are a sleepy head, I could sure use the light,” she muttered and some what miffed. “Well I cannot wait, not today.”

She closed the door slowly and headed for the other room. Still dark, her fingers tentatively reached for the light switch and turned it on. “Oh, no pain. I’m so thankful the light has become my friend again.”  The good omen made her happy and she continued one by one with the morning routine. It was there in this routine she found a tear, a single tear. “Why and how do did you get trapped in there?” she cried.

Apparenly It Is The Mindset

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Well, I think the personal storm cloud has lifted or at least for now it has. So I’m back at this keyboard and my mind feels like a racecar stuck in neutral. Let’s pop this thing in gear and go, want to?

I will not bore you with the details of the virus that thought me not worthy of attacking but simply say I am thankful. What I would rather bother you with are a few questions. Did you know many of the children in this country couldn’t write in cursive? That these same children consider cross burning freedom of speech?

I Have a Secret Admirer......

Friday, July 23, 2010

Yesterday I came to think I must have a secret admirer. Not the average; send me flowers, send me a gift admirer, but rather a thoughtful admirer or so I believed. How do you know they are admirers, anyway?

Aren’t secret admirers generally someone whom we leave a wonderful lasting impression with? Someone that follows up with an unexpected something and a note that reads, “Thank you, a secret admirer?” I can honestly think of no such encounter recently.

But then, my secret admirer left no such note, just numerous unexpected items all in the form of emails. They seem to have my best interest at heart or at least that is what I hoped.

Blog Interrupted

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

I wanted to put a post out there for all who may be trying to follow this blog. It would seem Google Feedburner is having some real issues and I fear that you may not be receiving what you signed up for.

Apparently if you are using AOL you have suddenly stopped receiving posts, AOL does not want to play with Google. If you are following this blog through a reader for some weird reason you simply get a screen that sits blank trying to load. I fear this problem is also the reason for delay in facebook postings.

I am a Blogger not a computer expert but I will do my best to figure this situation out. I ask that you be patient and should probably visit the actual blog site until Google gets its act together.

Please continue to read "Trying To Get Over The Rainbow," and if you have experienced any problem with this blog by all means LEAVE a COMMENT.

Middle-aged Women's Clothing: Be Specific

Monday, May 17, 2010

Google Analytics tells me there are a large amount of you women out there that are: A) middle aged, B) still wondering what to wear and C) realizing I have no idea, and then clicking on (See Womens Clothing). Well, I have to ask, “Why are you so obsessed with your attire?” “Will you allow me to help with this search?”

Since you have landed here because you entered the search parameters “middle-aged” and “clothing.” I have to assume you know what you are looking for or do you? What exactly are you hoping to find searching with those parameters anyway?

Are you looking for middle-aged or clothing? Because I can honestly tell you the web does not recognize the two parameters as being related to each other. Middle-aged gives you one set of possible results, while clothing gives you an entirely different set of possibilities and only one possibility of the two combined. I think more search parameters need to be entered.

iPad and Modern Conveniences

Friday, May 14, 2010

So you are thinking of purchasing an iPad, are you sure about that? Have you looked around the house lately and noticed all the other must have devices that now sit abandoned? Do you recall why you had to have those modern conveniences?

No I am not in the market for an iPad, I am using this as a metaphor. When I look around my house I see a history of “Had to Have” items that for whatever reason have lost there appeal. Modern advancements that where sold on the premises of being the latest and greatest must have items in their time.

Technology: You Had Your Laugh

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Who is it exactly that design the electrical connections to all our gadgets? I swear I think they have some warped sense of humor that requires them to sit in some dark cubicle somewhere thinking, “how many awkward positions will it require to get to this connected?”

I started the day with my PC having its monthly hissy fit and requiring me to give it some TLC before it would even look at me. I proceeded with the usual sweet talk and patting (kicking) its engine but that got me nowhere. Oh no; it wanted me to open its case, pull a card, stand on my head and all the while keeping my foot in the blue circle before it would boot up. Thankfully, I live with someone who’s nickname is Twister so I was not that out of practice. But that was just this beginning.

Technology or Human Interaction; That Is The Question

Monday, March 1, 2010

Recently my friend and I were walking down the street on our way to a parking garage when we noticed 3 men walking straight for us. As we continued on it became apparent we would have to get off the sidewalk and out of the men's way, as they passed my friend commented, "get out of the way of the gentlemen." This is simple little courtesy that I know some would argue the women's movement has largely affected. Yet the trend I am noticing is a far more disturbing movement toward the simple minded individual.

All to often I am noticing that the acts of common decency are far and few between. We have begun to live our technological lives in a bubble and so often never lift up our heads from the text keypad to notice what is right in front of us. We have reached a point where communication through a small rectangular box is our interaction with our fellow man and maybe this is our problem.
