Do You Know This Man?

Monday, September 5, 2011

He heard the rain, it had begun as a drizzle. Soon that drizzle turned to a downright rain and settled in for an all-night event. Not exactly what he had planned but all in all, maybe a good thing? The rain was comforting compared to the other surrounding audio that filled the room.

He lay there staring at the ceiling trying desperately not to think of what the morning would bring. His eyes closed, he concentrated on the rhythmic sound of rain falling to the beat of the universe. Why did the rain not calm him anymore, nor woo him to sleep as past rains had done?

Art is Subjective

Monday, August 22, 2011

I just checked my blog with Windows IE and still you cannot read it. I’m hoping a new posting will correct this, but in case it does not, please trying reading with another browser if you have one. And how was your weekend?

Weekends now to me are like falling into another dimension of time. Ms. Twister whirls in with jet lag, road worn and tries to cram more in one day than a human can but her powers of observation never seems to fail her.

A Misty River of Thoughts

Monday, August 15, 2011

Monday, it is Monday isn’t it? Which means the cable people will be here soon, I must get this out before they decided to disconnect to re-connect me because the storms did a number on my cable wire.

I have thought about this and truly wanted this to be an uplifting post, being it is Monday, but my mind is a fog bank. Like a river bank full of misty, illusions of floating incomplete thoughts. Anyone care to help me paddle?

Road Trip Pictures

Monday, August 8, 2011

I left you last week discussing reflections of a completed project and my girls suggesting a road trip. I took the road trip, totally solo, a new feat for me. How was it and where did I go?

I packed my truck and headed dead north to the lovely city of Cleveland, Ohio. Situated on Lake Erie and home of the Rock n’ Roll hall of fame I saw and conquered as much of Cleveland as I could in one day. Allow me…

Come See What I Did!

Monday, August 1, 2011

If you are reading this first sentence from a reader, stop cheating! You have to be on the actual blog for the full surprise and YES, it will be different.

Before I went to serious work on my temporary project, I left something hanging. Rather than wait for the entire re-vamp I am unavailing my new look.

New month, new look; why not? So, what do you think? I was sort of sick of pastels and wanted something a bit more true to me. I have more changes to complete however; I will handle that in stages. Hope I did not freak you out. Now…

Four weeks ago I sort of fell off the blog edge to work for money, Thursday that will end. My ability to once again earn money will be over, for now; back to blogging.

For all of you who have stuck with me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have missed you; I have missed reading about all your adventures, reviews, advise, stories, poems and in general, you.

I’ll be making the rounds to drop little smiley faces and comments your way. For now though I just wanted to let you know about the new look. You are in the right place, but if not, click the follow button anyway.
Open-mouthed smile

Peace…

When is a Possum not a Possum?

Monday, July 25, 2011

When is a possum not a possum? Saturday was yard work day that was delayed due to a 20% chance of rain. We thought if we divided and conqueror, with each assigned specific tasks, it would divide the time. Not really what happened.

What happened was we lost 5 pounds walking out the door, only to be followed with, “I forgot the shed key can you bring it?” The response, “where is the weed eater gas can?” Needless to say the first half-hour was spent laughing at our age or at least making fun of it.

A Big Short Happy

Monday, July 4, 2011

I do not have a great deal of time here but I did want to get back to a schedule, so a short post, I hope. A very full schedule is what I’ve had since last posting and today is my holiday, I do love me some fireworks.

I am hoping my American friends all have big plans for the fourth and where you are there will be fireworks. Nothing says ”Independence” like colorful explosives.
A big happy Fourth to you all but I have other news…

I was Blinded by the Light

Monday, June 6, 2011

I’m late I know, at least for me but I have good reason. On the way to conscious thought  I became blinded by the light. I don’t know maybe it was the system administrator getting around to things, maybe the recalculating fixed on a position, either way the light shone bright.

When one sits in the dark waiting for ole man sol to make his appearance things emerge from the shadows, things you may not expect. If one chooses one can see evil, creepy things lurking to pounce, but me? I was blinded by the light.

Memorial Monday

Monday, May 30, 2011

I will make this quick. I still have a great deal to do this holiday. I wanted to wish you all happy Memorial Day and to encourage you to take a moment for those whom have gone before.

Wars have always both interested me and confused me. There are reasons when armed conflicts are necessary but still, never welcomed. Then there are wars when you just want to lock the two bullies in a closet and let them duke it out. Leave the rest of us out of it.

10 Days and the Planets Have Aligned

Monday, May 23, 2011

I know it has been 10 days and I am sorry about my absence, but life handed me a break. It was neither planned nor self-imposed just dealt to me and I ran with it. What else is a girl to do?

No, I did not get a job or anything  that grand, it seems all the planets aligned and everything happened at once. In stepped life and in no shape or form could I step past it. So this is what ten days away with all the planets aligned looks like.

A Mere 120 Hours

Monday, May 9, 2011

I ask, “how do you spend a 120 hours?” I sat here this Monday morning looking at my weekly rhythm list when a thought occurred to me, “how much time do I really have?”

I have this on-going list of items that during any given week I need to address. I like to break everything down; I need this first before I can start… I so believe in baby steps.
I suddenly realized 120 hours was not at all that long. Do you know how long that is?

Just So You Know… A-Z is Over

Monday, May 2, 2011

I have spent the last month concocting stories, tidbits and so on regarding the letter of the day, whew it’s over. Well sort of, I’m supposed to reflect first.  That will be quick and then I’ll give you the “Just So You Know.”

Reflecting back I came to only one conclusion regarding the A-Z challenge, it’s not for me. I know as writers you guys thrive on this sort of thing but for me it actually became work. I have never been one to do what I was told, when I was told, then throw in doing it by letters and well, it felt like work.

Under

Monday, April 25, 2011

In the past three days I have used this word more often than I would have liked. I had been under this or under that, and it wasn’t until this morning I realized exactly how much underage I had achieved.

When I left you Friday I had no intention of completing the “under” list. It was not even on my radar but it seems great progress has been made. Will you let me toot my own horn and show you what got checked off my “Under” list?

IF..

Monday, April 11, 2011

If I had been prepared this post it would have been up by now, but I did not. If I knew what I was doing my life might have a better rhythm, but I do not.  If...

If the world were a nicer place we all might wear a smile, if all things were equal there would be no less fortunate. If ...

To me the most hopeful and yet detrimental word we use. Due to my lack of preparation I offer you a song. My tribute to the word "If," enjoy.

By the way we are expecting strong storms this morning, I'll visit as many of you as I can.

Peace...

C = Cooties

Monday, April 4, 2011

Yes, you read the title right, I need to know. What happen to Cooties? Did you not know someone when you were young that had “Cooties?” I knew lots of children with Cooties and yet, now I hear of none. What happen to cooties?

Do you remember cooties? Throughout childhood there was always at least one child that had this affliction and you steered clear. Not a bullying tactic as much as you did not want to catch cooties. The affliction did not last long and always got transferred to another child. So, did these children get, “HEALED?”

Which Eye is Your Dominate?

Monday, March 21, 2011

With one eye closed life has a directional point of view, regardless of whether that direction is left or right. Shut one eye and experience it. Ah, caught you, stop squinting. Weird isn’t it?

The entire weekend I have seen things from this vantage point, a directional view. My brain registers what seems to it only half the picture. So which eye is your dominate eye?

My Civic Duty

Monday, March 14, 2011

It has taken me a while to get going this morning, time change and all. I wanted to do something up-lifting and light-hearted but instead I feel a civic duty coming on. I feel the need to share some personal knowledge.

We all are reeling from the devastation in Japan and the horrific visuals that are being presented, my heart bleeds for them. This however, is not my topic I wish to address.

I do not know about other countries but here in the US the news agencies keep asking us, “What if…in the US?” This is  the subject I want to enlighten some of you on. You know my past career was in architecture, right?! Do you know the first design puzzle you are taught to solve?

Truth, Lies and Awards

Monday, March 7, 2011

Let us begin this week on a high note and aspire to hit another octave by week end, shall we? The high point, a few awards that I graciously received last week and now must pass on.

As much as I love awards you would think someone would have written an app for these. Wouldn’t it be nice if you just selected the recipient’s and the app did the rest? Someone get on that please.

Stormy Memories, Part 2

Monday, February 28, 2011

Have you ever been chased by a tornado? I mean a real, took Dorothy to Oz, tornado. Those rope looking cloud devils that on one hand can mesmerize you into a trance and on the other, inflict pain and destruction beyond belief. Honestly, I have.

I awoke this morning to that least favorite sound of mine, the storm siren. Warnings are going up for every county around and it made me remember. It brought back memories of storms I have been a part of and survived, for one the super outbreak of 1974. But, it was not until the mid-80’s that I became storm prey.
