I was Blinded by the Light

I’m late I know, at least for me but I have good reason. On the way to conscious thought I became blinded by the light. I don’t know maybe it was the system administrator getting around to things, maybe the recalculating fixed on a position, either way the light shone bright.

When one sits in the dark waiting for ole man sol to make his appearance things emerge from the shadows, things you may not expect. If one chooses one can see evil, creepy things lurking to pounce, but me? I was blinded by the light.

The funniest thing happened to me on the way to the challenge, I got lucky and busy. There are some wonderful people out there I owe special recognition to and the way I look at it, better late than never.

Right before the challenge started I was commenting as usual, minding my own business and not paying attention. Most of the time when you guys are giving away something or having a contest I just am stopping by because I want to be there nothing more. I did not know I had to tell you that!

Subpar is Back

Hey, do you remember me? Been awhile hasn’t it? Sorry about that, but it was a needed break. I was stuck in a rut, scalded with emotions and stabbed by my reality which in my opinion was leading to subpar posts.

To you my lovely followers and those passing kind souls I take the “I’m not worthy” pose and say, “Thank you.” All of your comments and kind emails touched my heart in an uplifting, wow sort of way that has snapped me back. But why was I feeling my writing was subpar?

I needed to do something this morning to keep my mind busy. I know, “I’ll clean out my closet.” I’m sorry to hoard these things but I hate having to pick just a few people. I also know when we read, “Take it, it is for everyone,” no one does. But before we get to the cleaning of the closet…

I want to hand out a sincere, huge, warm fuzzy, THANK YOU. The comments left on my last post made my heart beat brighter. I still cannot write about my stress as of yet, I’m in a holding pattern but thank you each and everyone for your thoughts. Keep praying though I need that right now.

I want, I need, to inch my way back into our world of blogs. It wasn’t until I stepped back that I realized what a force you guys have become in my life. Do you know what I mean?

The compassionate comments you left on my status post only solidified my belief in you. Your compassion and the homeless guy who returned the backpack full of money, only to be rewarded with more generosity have pierced the gloom. Through the darkness came a light.

I’m nowhere near conquering my crossroads and I have made strides during this hiatus. I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow, but I did submit my first short story to a competition. I know, depressed and I set myself up for rejection. Well you have to have a cherry on top of that blue sundae don’t you?

Like I said, I’m inching my way back in, so this is not going to be long. I did want you to know that your words…

Lifted my wings like a small breeze and allowed me to make to the next branch on my journey. Thank you! Compassion is NEVER over-rated.

Since I left you M.I.A. with music I felt it only fitting I inch back in with music. My first holiday wish for the season…

That we all learn to be “Everyday People.”

Yesterday was my BON day and I gave you a few more tid-bits about myself, whew that hurt. Now today I have a few new followers and I wish to welcome them to the journey. Your company will help ward off any evil we may encounter, safety in numbers you know.

Today I have decided to go ahead and let go of two more awards. I do not want to hold on to these because my memory of what, who, when and where is starting to play games with me. Up front though, I need to add a disclaimer here about my comments.

I try really hard to make my Sunday posts short, day of rest and all. Today I will make no exception, I will try again to keep this short. I just have a few things to say.

First and foremost! My father is home!! YEAH, but I’m well aware the road is a long one. I just pray he knows it. They live in another city, so yesterday I only spoke to him on the phone. His voice reflected that of a child receiving everything they had asked for on their Christmas list. He was home and they did not; yet, take away his gravy and biscuits.

Which brings me to all the beautiful comments. Thank you just does not seem to even come close to what I want to convey to you but will have to do. You should know though, you kind sentiments and the fact you cared cannot be measured in mere words. To each of you I send a big Kentucky bear hug.

To my new followers. WELCOME! Thank you for being here. As you can tell I’ve been a little pre-occupied with my family but you have not gone unnoticed.

To all of my followers. I have fallen behind in visiting and commenting I know. This to shall pass. Slowly I will be returning and leaving smiles in your comment forms, promise.

First and foremost I want to express a huge THANK YOU for all the kind words and prayers regarding my father, they worked. While he is still in the ICU, he is doing well, breathing tube removed and sitting up.

While the past five days have not been enjoyable for me I have kept my eyes open. I have seen bad things; I have seen good things and some of it you just had to laugh at. I’m still recovering from this emotional journey and I think it best just to report some of my observations.

As I woke this morning and cringed from the weather forecast, another 100+ heat index day, I was not happy. Pulling myself to the laptop already sweating from just hearing the prediction, I powered up. Check your comments. “What, No way!” I then proceeded to do a scantly clad happy dance.

Yes, another first! My friend Yvonne over at Welcome To My World of Poetry has awarded me my very first blogging award. To put it mildly I am ecstatic, and now have a new sidebar placeholder for my prize. I am honored, I am proud and ever so thankful she even considered me worthy. Well, my warped thinking process lead right to this thought.

Gazing out the window, once again the rain was dripping from the trees. Nowhere to be, nothing really planned to accomplish, she looked down and asked her furry companion, “What choices should we make for today?” What a strange concepts, she thought, choices?

Slowly sipping hot coffee her mind wandered and the realty of the word weighed heavy on her heart. Throughout the globe, she just knew, others are asking them selves exactly that same question. It made her ponder, “ I wonder what choices they will make today?”
