Brain Fart and Awards

Saturday, January 14, 2012

I was not going to post this weekend but I messed things up and felt it best.  Oh yes, I screwed things up and thank you kindly to Theresa I found out quickly.

Ever see something and want it, only to find it does not work for you and all you want to do is return it? I  saw the new “Reply” option Blogger was offering, wanted it but found it did not want me. Hopefully, and I know it is thanks to Mary, I fixed my temporary want. So my post…

I received an award, actually two of them and no I really am swearing off awards but these two need mentioning.

First The Golden Eagle awarded me this and I thank her tremendously. Open-mouthed smile

Then I got this from Tammy @ A Message in a Bloggle, in which she also bestowed a huge compliment on me. Thanks does not say enough! Tammy is someone I thoroughly  enjoy; her wit and insight into the world we live… well go visit her and see. Tell her the crazy, loud-mouth, white woman over at the rainbow sent you.

I’m supposed to tell you seven things you do not yet know about me, so I’ll keep them short.

1.  I have 10 toes but only 9 toenails. I once was a covert operative and refuse to spill the beans, cost me 1 toenail.

2. I collect duck feathers. I’m half way to a homemade boa. Don’t ask me what I want them for.

3. & 4.  I don’t do dolls… of any kind and pink is my least favorite color. I’m the sister who would tear the arms and legs off Barbie and then give her a swirly. Pink and light blue say, “Stereotype” to me and I don’t do that either.

5. I’m secretly in love with those paper mache guys in the Kayak commercial. I want one.

6. I love playing pranks on people in the grocery and with men doing more shopping… I actually look forward to grocery shopping.

7. I believe in ghosts, big foot and the Lochness monster, so don’t go busting my bubble. Nessy I will never meet but this summer I’m taking Pete, my ghost, to Ohio to look for Bigfoot.

I’m not forwarding either of these. If you are here take them, I’m screaming at you to take them. If you are here you are close to my heart and I want to give you something, I just lazy and don’t want to do all that linking.

A great weekend to all!

RainbowPeace…

Art is Subjective

Monday, August 22, 2011

I just checked my blog with Windows IE and still you cannot read it. I’m hoping a new posting will correct this, but in case it does not, please trying reading with another browser if you have one. And how was your weekend?

Weekends now to me are like falling into another dimension of time. Ms. Twister whirls in with jet lag, road worn and tries to cram more in one day than a human can but her powers of observation never seems to fail her.

Just So You Know…

Saturday, July 16, 2011

My word, yes it has been a week. I had good intentions and did make it to a few of you this week but not like I had planned. I hope you are still out there.

I have a better plan for this next week and hopefully life will cooperate. Until then I thought I would give another installment of “Just so you know.” It has been awhile…

Hit Or Miss

Saturday, July 9, 2011

So much for adhering to a schedule, life just did not want to be scheduled. I did however, have the best intentions but then there is a saying about that. Being a good blogger was just not in the cards with it being a short week.

I did think about blogging and as I was racking my brain on how to make a window water tight in a 1 foot thick wall I really missed it! Throughout the week numerous things crossed my mind as post worthy. Rather than save them, here is what crossed my mind this week.

“B” as in, Bluegrass State

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Most people think of Kentucky as the Bluegrass State, why? Every visitor I have housed asks the same question, “Where is the ‘Blue’ grass?” After picking myself up from the double over laughter, I respond, “So you fell for it?!”

Our grass is not blue, honestly have you ever seen “blue” grass anywhere? We have green grass just like every other place on this planet and honestly I do think it is a tourist trap. Why do I think this?

Eye Candy Blog Fest

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Staring the New Year participating in a Blog Fest, oh well, guess I know what I'll be doing this year. Ms. Vicki Rocho is hosting the "Eye Candy" blog fest today.

Simple little thing, just post an image that you love looking at. True to form I could not decide on just one, so I included categories I love to look at. Here are my entries.

Impressionist Art
Dans La Prairie by Claude Monet
Cannot think of a better way to spend the day than dreaming of what was going through the impressionist's mind.

Georgia O'Keefe
Jack in the Pulpit
I absolutely love her work. She took painting simple flowers to the ultimate.

Black and White Photography

No color what so ever but the emotion in two tone pigment speaks volumes.

And finally I leave you with what I hope we all are this year. The one true stand out that always is wearing a smile on our face.

Thank you Vicki for hosting this awesome fest. Everyone hop on over and check out the rest of the entries.  "Eye Candy" Blog Fest.  Happy New Year everyone!

Peace...

A Christmas Wish

Saturday, December 25, 2010

As I sit to write this, I realize most all you will be waking to a holiday. I, on the other hand am waking to another 2” of snow and very thankful I do not have to travel today. Tomorrow, why tomorrow?

Tomorrow will be our Christmas. With all my siblings in the medical industry it is fair to assume someone would pull the holiday, this year two. Mother, as only mothers can do, declared Sunday our day of celebrating. Yeap, she moved Christmas.

This is nothing new. Growing up the child of a fireman, I was fed many a tale as to why Santa either came on Christmas eve or was late. See, story telling is in my blood.

Any who… Sunday I will load Ms. Twister and myself in the car, go pick up granny and head to the hollers. Today I come to offer you a very Merry Christmas.

I hope you are opening the gift you asked for, you are with those who fill you heart with love and that the aroma from the kitchen is driving you crazy. Merry Christmas my beautiful followers!

I’m off to hunt down the elves who left all those tiny elfin beer cans in my yard Smile and Santa needs to pick up after his deer.

Peace….

What Drives You Back to Bed...

Saturday, October 30, 2010

This must be my “Trick” day. Waking up at 3:30 in the morning this is what has finally driven me back to bed.

From 3:30 to 5:30am I tried to be as quiet as a church mouse. Bumped, stumped and mashed every extremity I have. (It is hard to whisper swear words.)

From 5:50 to 8:30am I managed to screw several things up related to blogger. Sent a message for help, got spam in return. (Sort of like finding a toothbrush in your Halloween candy.)

Help, I've Been Abducted

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Sleep came easy to her. Three straight nights of little to no sleep had left her zapped of all energy and closing her eyes felt like heaven. In the dark, a warm comfortable bed called out, her relief was at hand. Was it? Could sleep really be her salvation?

Nine hours later the sun was peeked through a window. One at a time she opened her eyes, and in seeing the mocking sun, threw a pillow at the window. “No use,” she thought, “I must get up.” With the speed of a snail she stumbled to the bathroom. “Oh my God!” was all she could say.
