The Doctor is In…

Monday, January 31, 2011

The patient lay there bleeding. Unconscious and unaware of the dire situation, and triage merely a band-aid, the patient needed a specialist. One from the crowd ran in fear, the liquid oozing from the orifice not a pretty site. “Someone call 911” came a scream.

A band of white glad clad angels descended on the scene. “Quick, this patient needs surgery,” one was heard to say. The angels went to work, stabilizing and prepping as if heaven guided their hands. In a hushed whisper an angel spoke, “This does not look good, something is wrong with its heart, doctor better hurry.”

If a Child

Friday, January 28, 2011

If a child never sees beauty,
If a child never hears kindness,
If a child never feels compassion,
If a child is never touched,
If a child solely experiences abuse,
If a child never knows faith,
However, if a child is denied

Word Verification/Airport Security, huh?

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Let me start by thanking both, D.L. Hammons and Alex Cavanaugh, for hosting their blogfests. Both fests that enlightened us as to our blogging friend’s true self. D.L. allowed a loved one to divulge about us and Alex by exposing ourselves through music. Thanks guys!

Now; word verification and airport security, I know what do they have in common? Actually nothing but, being Wednesday I felt wacky. Try your best to follow along.

Monday, January 24, 2011

Today I'm joining Alex's Top 10 music blogfest. Music being my primary source of inspiration for... well, life in general, I really have looked forward to it. I love music, have a very eclectic collection and found this to be harder than I thought.

Significant Other Blogfest

Friday, January 21, 2011

Today is Talli and DL Hammons @ Cruising Altitude’s blogfest. The fest requires a loved one to either write a post or be interviewed about that loved one. I had to go for the later.

Ms. Twister was selected as my victim and I would like to give you some background. We have known each other since second grade. Have lived together for quite a while and are a true yen and yang combination; her being the yen.

Newsflash: I Have a Newsflash

EXTRA... EXTRA

We interrupt this regular schedule of posting for an important message.

My stress has been relieved and finally I can divulge the causes. I’m superstitious that way; don’t talk about things in fear of the proverbial jinx. Any who, I now can tell you. Wait, let me stop doing this happy dance and sit down so I can tell this story correctly.

Let it Go, Turn it Off

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

I think the title says it all. I want to let go of so much and then simply, turn it off. I have been sitting here since 4 this morning trying to, “Let go and turn off,” it ain’t happening.

Perhaps because my beloved Kentucky wildcats are playing like a bunch of wash women. Perhaps because I have yet to receive good news to alleviate my stress. Perhaps because being as compassionate as I am I cannot turn off the world. Perhaps I need to spike my coffee.

The Morning After Awards

Monday, January 17, 2011

I needed to do something this morning to keep my mind busy. I know, “I’ll clean out my closet.” I’m sorry to hoard these things but I hate having to pick just a few people. I also know when we read, “Take it, it is for everyone,” no one does. But before we get to the cleaning of the closet…

I want to hand out a sincere, huge, warm fuzzy, THANK YOU. The comments left on my last post made my heart beat brighter. I still cannot write about my stress as of yet, I’m in a holding pattern but thank you each and everyone for your thoughts. Keep praying though I need that right now.

Who Sees the Common Thread?

Friday, January 14, 2011

I could see a tear form in her eyes as my mother sat in a restaurant with me yesterday. There on the overhead screen was the funeral coverage of this week’s youngest shooting victim. It had been a stressful morning for both us and yet here we sat; both tearing up.

“Mom, do not cry or I will too,” I told her. She, with her motherly heart, was imagining what it would feel like to bury a child. I, with my compassionate heart, was imaging what it would feel like to have been the one to have taken that child to such an event. We both had reason for tears.

Have You Seen Charlie & Sam?

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Charlie and Sam met in a bar. A sort of bar that is an out of the way, hole-in-the-wall, place where people go in an effort to not be found. The bar lacked décor which was the décor. No table and chairs, just a bar. A place everyone is welcome and one that wears the nicks and dings of past patrons with pride. There at the end, sat Charlie.

An elegant sort of being, Charlie sat alone. To Charlie presentation was the key. On his small frame, he wore a perfectly matching suit, trimmed and pressed in crisp lines, in which he sat with perfect posture. Charlie lived by the motto, “Speak when spoken to, and mind your own business.” Yet, with this entire perfectly elegant aura, Charlie was alone.

Is The Sky Falling?

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

2003 Kentucky Ice Storm
I have sat down several times to write a post with no luck. My schedule has already given way to, “The sky is falling.” Many factors have led to the non-post on Monday and difficulty Tuesday. Is the sky falling?

Yesterday was taken up by 3 simple little distractions; snow, phone and puke. Not entirely in that order. The southern snow storm played havoc with Ms. Twisters travel plans, in fact she ended up driving to her destination. Thank heavens it was a mere 5 hour, snow-free trip.

Movement & Links

Friday, January 7, 2011

I really had planned a short story for this post but Karma had another idea. I achieved nothing I sat out to achieve, nothing I tell you! A week full of movements; up, down and sideways I have been moved. Can you relate?

Since I was a child, realizing this now, I have inherited my mother’s trait of saving lost souls. I attract those lost puppies, the stray cats and wounded wing birds of the world. I apparently have become the “Dear Abby” of my community.

New Creation Blog Fest & More

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

My lovely fairy friend Summer over at “My Inner Fairy” is hosting a blog fest today. To which I thought would be very simple, look here are the rules:
  1. Pick one ending sentence from last years stories, your favorite one that you wrote.
  2. Write one brand new starting sentence for a story you have been thinking about, or something off the top of your head. But it must be your first sentence.
Sounds simple, yet most of you have a ton more material than I to pull from. I do encourage you to pop over and check out the other entries. I do have other items to get to so here are my entries.

The New Year Begins

Monday, January 3, 2011

For my first true post of 2011 let us begin with some observations. We all know I do not fly, so airport security is of no concern to me but that does not mean I do not notice things. Did you experience airport security over the holidays? Do you know someone who did?

Though, many of you have documented the security process, I wonder how many of you actually looked around? Early this morning I had such an opportunity. Today Ms. Twister began her travels in the advancement of her career and I was the airport shuttle. However, I took the time to look around.

Eye Candy Blog Fest

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Staring the New Year participating in a Blog Fest, oh well, guess I know what I'll be doing this year. Ms. Vicki Rocho is hosting the "Eye Candy" blog fest today.

Simple little thing, just post an image that you love looking at. True to form I could not decide on just one, so I included categories I love to look at. Here are my entries.

Impressionist Art
Dans La Prairie by Claude Monet
Cannot think of a better way to spend the day than dreaming of what was going through the impressionist's mind.

Georgia O'Keefe
Jack in the Pulpit
I absolutely love her work. She took painting simple flowers to the ultimate.

Black and White Photography

No color what so ever but the emotion in two tone pigment speaks volumes.

And finally I leave you with what I hope we all are this year. The one true stand out that always is wearing a smile on our face.

Thank you Vicki for hosting this awesome fest. Everyone hop on over and check out the rest of the entries.  "Eye Candy" Blog Fest.  Happy New Year everyone!

Peace...
