BON by WOW; Who Me?
Tuesday, September 7, 2010
Today is my turn in the BON (Blogger of Note) seat, what a thrill. Pam and Sandy over at WOW (Words of Wisdom) have my deepest gratitude for allowing me this time in the sun, Thank You. If you are not familiar with them please check out their wonderful blogging community.
Undoubtedly some are visiting from WOW and to you I say WELCOME. It is my pleasure to have you visit and hopefully stick around for the show. Feel free to browse the isles and make suggestions. At least on your way out leave me a comment I want to know you were here.
Of course I cannot forget those of you whom have been faithful to me in the past few months, a big hug to you. You have kept me honest and strong in the short time we have come to know each other. So without further ado, my introduction.
Trying to Get Over The Rainbow entitles the magical journey I now find myself on. A middle aged, unemployed woman, born and breed in Kentucky just seeking a better way. I have traveled to 40 of the 50 states and Mexico but I will always call Kentucky my home. Something about the bluegrass is addicting. Though, I would like to someday drive to Alaska.
I have spent the last 28 years in the field of Architecture. I can design you a house, draw the plans, over see the construction and then cook you a gourmet meal to welcome you in. The recession has taken this career from me but I am not sad. The Architecture I love is from the past. Those buildings with a character and history, the ones we imagine to have a story in which tell us and envelope that sense of community. I am not interested in the concrete and metal cracker boxes we now call architecture, they are cold to me.
I am an animal lover, in fact my only children are three furry friends. I am a want to be musician and writer, I am an artist, I am a cook, a handyperson, and above all a human with morals. I believe in honesty and integrity, I believe good will always win out over bad and have set my sights on proving such.
I try to be diverse. This blog contains many things; stories, thoughts, insights, family memories, you just never know what you will find. I encourage the exploration of my the archives, I'm sure there you will find something.
The most important aspect I have begun to realize and take pride in, is that I am learning to be a story teller. Though, genetically it should have been no surprise to me; after all, all hillbillies are story tellers. I'm learning just the same.
To be a BON I was to offer you three of my favorite posts. The first one listed below is from a new series I recently started, entitled “Just so You Know.” The regular Jo's here seem to like these. In these posts I offer up tidbits of information about me. So if you want to know...
JUST SO YOU KNOW....
The second and third favorites are two of my stories. Both have meaning to me and one no more than the other. If you need a good story just follow the link.
I'LL CATCH YOU A CLOUD
THE WHISPER OF THE WIND
In closing I want to extend my deepest, heart felt thank you for stopping by. I hope you have found something here that might shed light on what possibly could be over that rainbow. For those who are seeking the real reason for this blog title, it’s coming.
Since you are here…………….go ahead click that follow button. Who knows Glenda the good witch may show up riding a flying monkey.

One of the things I like about blogs is discovering, little by little, more and more about those whose entries I read. Funny, I never think of you as a hillbilly, but I think you've mentioned it in more than just this entry.
Congratulations on being on BON WOW, I will pop over and take a look.
Have a good day
Yvonne.
Thanks for the visit and lovely comment.
