I Do Have an Excuse and I Saw Monsters
Sunday, November 7, 2010
Deviating from the norm, I feel as though I need to explain. For the past couple of weeks my mind has not been on writing or blogging. For this I have a four-letter word, pain.
I have somehow, in some non-memorable way, totally messed my shoulder up. Yes, to all the mothers out there, I did go the doctor. I received 4 shots and been put on ice therapy. Healing is occurring. Whew!
For this reason my writing and commenting have been a little left of center. If I have not made your blog or skipped a post please excuse my absence. Cut, paste and word verification is a little much for one hand.
Any who…
Yesterday I got out of the house and went to a local convention, peaked my interest. Apparently, Kentucky did not want to let go of Halloween this year. I went to a paranormal/horror movie convention. Different but interesting, especially since I do not enjoy, nor watch slash movies; I can see that on the news.
I do however enjoy paranormal shows, nothing like a good ghost story. If you have seen it on television it had a representative there yesterday. Two of my favorite shows are Paranormal State and Psychic Kids. Chip Coffey started on Paranormal State and now hosts Psychic Kids.
I saw this sign as Ms Twister poked me in my good shoulder; laughing so hard all she could do was point to it. Not because of the sign but because the gentleman at the booth talking to the exhibitor appeared to be pleading his case for, “Oh yes, I have!”
I did sit in on a seminar, “cyrptozoology.” Unexplained creatures of legend, i.e.: Bigfoot. Well, Lee of Tossin it Out, if there is no Bigfoot then I can hope for a werewolf. Apparently we have them in Kentucky. Though they go by a name I cannot remember, goes to show how much of an impression that made.
By this time I needed to return to my ice pack so we decided to call it a day. Besides this was the first time in a very long time that I felt the normal one in a room, gave me the chills.
I’m off to try to make the rounds and read your lovely blogs but if I am late in getting there please except my apologies. This one armed, country chicken is doing the best she can.
Peace and blessings on this Sunday….
PS Ms Yvonne, I’ll pass your lovely award on next week and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Surprised me but he was very personable. He has such a straightforward attitude on screen I found it refreshing to meet such a warm human. Not to mention I find him extremely cute.
Ghost Hunters International was there. Brian Harnois and Rob Demarest.
Can’t forget the Ghost Lab boys either.
This little guy moved all over the place. Still don’t know what he was there for and outside the blood on his fingers and chin, he reminded me of a critter, from the movie “Critters.
Then came the humor. Did you know bugs have an after life? I know; I didn’t either. Apparently they do and there is help for this type of haunting. Who knew “Ghostbugbusters?”

Cool photos from the convention! And looks like a Critters critter to me.
Hey Jules - Bummer on the shoulder. I had surgery May of last year and still have pain. Where was the convention? Must not have been anywhere near my little Kentucky town. Hubby and I would have LOOOOOOVED to have gone to this!
Keep icing that shoulder and don't lift anything too heavy!
So sorry, Jules, to hear/read about shoulder and the pain you're in! Very sorry!! Hope you feel back to a 100% soon!
I would have loved to go to that convention! It sounds very interesting and some of those shows are my favorites too. In fact, I don't watch much tv. (I'd rather be blogging with I can) :-) However I love 2 of those shows and dvr them to watch on the weekends.
Thanks for sharing & You take care of yourself!!!!
