A Smell, Nasty & a Music Score

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

The music will start now, be ready! For those stopping by for East for Green Eyes Score Blogfest my entry is at the end.

Ah sunrise, no other time like it or so she thought. It is a time of day when the amber flickering of light casts shadows on the world. When the flora and fauna dance around reflecting their morning glitter.

”I’ll just stroll around the yard, collect some morning glitter on my feet,” she thought but the shadows began to snicker. It was as if they mocked her and all the while lured her, there is no evil in the morning light. She should have known not to believe the passing wind.

All around the yard she did wander. Absorbing and collecting the freshness of the day, lost in the thought of aromas a new day presents. “Breath in, store this scent for ammunition against what the world will surely bring,” and her body felt the calm.

An aroma, something was not right. Her nose it did burn and her body reacted with a flinch, and danger radar of the highest set off alarms. “What on earth” she asked herself and curiosity got the best of her. “Follow your nose,” her mind whispered in her ear.

Losing all track of space and time a search was now in place. Oblivious to all, she listened to her mind and followed her nose. She rambled left, then right and on several occasions back tracked but her mind was set, find this hideous aroma.

Just then a sound from next door caught her ear. It broke the trance of finding the hideous smell and set her small heart into a panic. “I know that sound and it is not good,” she said with a gasp.

”Flee, flee or the evil will get you!” Her mind repeated and without a hesitation she ran with all her might. Like an Olympic god the wind blew back her hair but like the small coward she was, the fear was the driving force; she ran.

Back to the house, like a whimpering dog she did run. The she is poor small mouse, the smell is the so-called monster under the shed and the evil… the neighbor with a weed eater.

Rosie at East For Green Eyes is having a Score Blogfest where you suggest the music score for your WIP. I have no shortage of these and none yet worthy of an entire score. My entries are songs that regardless of piece would apply.

So listen, enjoy and try to imagine what my warped brain is writing to these.

I may be late getting to everyone; I will be day labor for my father again today.

Well done! I love Etta james and Dido as well. Which track goes with your day labour assignment?
On a different note, thanks for the comment on my blog. Unfortunately, your suggestion of putting a sign "Free Weed" in my front yard resulted in a neighborhood riot; about 100 stoners on one side, protesters wanting to free Weed from whatever jail he's in on the other. :((

...Van Morrison, excellent choice of tunage!

This is a fantastic blogfest. Has me pondering of inspirational tunes as background music for the little flame throwing pitcher in my recent release.

That was cool...I wasn't certain how it would end; and certainly wasn't even in my thought pattern. You are so creative!
I hope your day labor wasn't as bad as you thought and you didn't melt in the heat!

Aww--poor Mouse! I LOVED this line:“Breath in, store this scent for ammunition against what the world will surely bring,” and her body felt the calm. I have a fragrance garden just because my own inner Mouse does this often!
