Meshe and You Have to See This

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Meshe was not an ordinary child. She did not play the usual games little girls play and for that matter hated dressing like a little girl. On any given day she heard the words, “that is not lady like,” and in her own defense would snap back, “Well why not?”

All throughout her childhood she defied girly things and when the adolescent years hit nothing really changed. Meshe could have cared less about what other girls thought or what she should have been wearing to fit in. Meshe was a fun junkie.

In a Moment

Friday, March 25, 2011

Have ever looked across a table into the eyes of another and realized the question they asked is painful? Do you defuse the situation with a flippant comment? Do you blow it off with a sigh or do you look away as if that question had not been asked?

Yesterday I had this opportunity not once, but twice. In an instant I had to stare into hurt eyes and respond. I am not equipped to deal with others pain. My coping mechanism is laughter but laughter is not always the best medicine.

What Day is it?

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Do you ever have days when you hear that little voice say, “Oh let’s just play hooky today!” To which your other little voice replies, “No you don’t; you have this, this and this to do.” Why do we never listen to that first voice?

I have been trying to work myself out of a funk by setting small goals. Very small achievable tasks that will allow me to feel like I’ve made baby steps but do you know what I figured out? I have figured out why babies cling to crawling.

Which Eye is Your Dominate?

Monday, March 21, 2011

With one eye closed life has a directional point of view, regardless of whether that direction is left or right. Shut one eye and experience it. Ah, caught you, stop squinting. Weird isn’t it?

The entire weekend I have seen things from this vantage point, a directional view. My brain registers what seems to it only half the picture. So which eye is your dominate eye?

A Day of Silence

Thursday, March 17, 2011

I’m posting this tonight because Friday I will be observing a day of silence on my blog. In memory and support of all that Japan has and will be enduring there will be no post.

I urge all of you to keep Japan in your thoughts and prayers, If you can do something do. Wherever you are; hold those close to you a bit tighter, forget that car that just cut you off, and remember it is the little things that matter most.

If you wish to find out more about the “For Japan With Love,” please visit Nicolasa @ (My) Perspective. You may also click here to go directly to the website.

I am doing the best I can to get around today but I have not had much luck. I have been suffering all week with allergies and in short feel like I have a third eye in the middle of my brow. Yes, spring has sprung and pumped my eyes up.

After my silence I will try this weekend to catch up with everyone.

Have a great weekend and Peace…

Can A True Love Return?

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Her heart skipped a beat as the evening news said their good-byes. Motionless she lye in a tomb of boundless covers and her eyes stared deep into the darkness. From within something sparked a light, “Could it really be?”

Without sight her waning memories began to flood her vision. A smile crept upon her face but was hidden by the shadows of night. How long had it been, did our absence change us, on and on questions of what once was crossed her lips, always ending with “Could it really be?”

My Civic Duty

Monday, March 14, 2011

It has taken me a while to get going this morning, time change and all. I wanted to do something up-lifting and light-hearted but instead I feel a civic duty coming on. I feel the need to share some personal knowledge.

We all are reeling from the devastation in Japan and the horrific visuals that are being presented, my heart bleeds for them. This however, is not my topic I wish to address.

I do not know about other countries but here in the US the news agencies keep asking us, “What if…in the US?” This is  the subject I want to enlighten some of you on. You know my past career was in architecture, right?! Do you know the first design puzzle you are taught to solve?

Can You Hear Me Now?

Friday, March 11, 2011

Can You? Have you ever been in a situation where you, in your mind, were following a conversation only to be jolted by someone screaming, “Are you even listening?”

There is a study out there that suggests we are losing the art of real conversation. We have, in this modern age, taken the old phone company adage and changed it to read, “Let your fingers do the talking.” We converse via social media. However, it is not the lost art of conversation that bothers me but rather the dulling of our senses.

What is Real?

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

When we last met I was telling truths, lies and handing out goodies. Thank you for taking part in the, “which is real” scenario but I guess I should reveal the whole truth, huh?

To be honest most guessed correct, the leprechaun was a sort of a lie. Most of you wanted to know more about my truths so be the kind person I am I will divulge a bit more. In order as presented here is the real story.

Truth, Lies and Awards

Monday, March 7, 2011

Let us begin this week on a high note and aspire to hit another octave by week end, shall we? The high point, a few awards that I graciously received last week and now must pass on.

As much as I love awards you would think someone would have written an app for these. Wouldn’t it be nice if you just selected the recipient’s and the app did the rest? Someone get on that please.

Help Me Wish Her a Happy Birthday

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

She wanted a boy but did not get one.
What she received was a ball playing, gun toting tomboy.
She wanted to dress her little girl in lace and ruffles.
What she had was a dirt magnet that used the lace and ruffles as a teething ring.
