Stormy Memories, Part 2

Monday, February 28, 2011

Have you ever been chased by a tornado? I mean a real, took Dorothy to Oz, tornado. Those rope looking cloud devils that on one hand can mesmerize you into a trance and on the other, inflict pain and destruction beyond belief. Honestly, I have.

I awoke this morning to that least favorite sound of mine, the storm siren. Warnings are going up for every county around and it made me remember. It brought back memories of storms I have been a part of and survived, for one the super outbreak of 1974. But, it was not until the mid-80’s that I became storm prey.

Did You See That Face?

Friday, February 25, 2011

Have you ever thought about the people you pass in one week? Actually took the time to recall those faces that left an impression. Do you have a face that leaves an impression?

This past week I got out a bit more than usual, I saw a bit more than normal and tried to recall the week in faces. You do know faces are not always on our head don’t you? Look …

Why Do, Did You, Have You…

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I have been up since 4:30am catching up on some of the sad news being presented today. Occasionally I bite the bullet and endure the madness; it doesn’t take but a small dose to fill my cup. What about you small dose or fill ‘er up?

This morning I noticed several issues that well, just struck me as odd. As in what ever happen to common sense? Just a few of the oddities I noticed, what do you think?

Monday, February 21, 2011

As you may have noticed I surpassed 200 followers last week. A milestone for sure in this blogging community. So what’s a girl to do for a party of 200?

Many of you have given things away, held parties, just all sorts of special celebrations, how do I top that? I don’t, plain and simple. Here is why.

When Christmas Presents Attack

Friday, February 18, 2011

It is nearly spring so I feel it is imperative that I warn you about unattended Christmas presents.  Did you know they can get ticked off?

They can and do.When left to their own devices, your Christmas presents will revolt and can cause you bodily harm. I know I have committed this dreadful act and nearly drowned.

Two years ago I received a present that I both, needed and wanted, a full body bath pillow. When you are bony and love two-hour long baths a pillow is a luxury. My mother honored me with this long desired luxury present.

Bernard Pivot Blogfest

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

This one sounded to good to pass up. Ms. Nicole Duclerior over at One Significant Moment at a Time is  hosting today's blogfest. A simple little fest where you just have to answer a few questions or so I thought.

When I first read how simple this was I envisioned, “Oh man, easy;" not. The television makes it look easy but try answering these in the moment. Any who… on to the fest.

I Got A Bear to Pick With You

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Yes, it is Tuesday, you are not confused and neither am I. Stepping out of my routine, I am joining a band wagon. No, not a protest or a sit in but a shout it from the mountains, answer my questions and hear my words, band wagon.

I know what are we screaming about and why should you listen, I hearing you asking those questions. Be patient I’m about to tell you. It all has to do with a boy and his mother’s stories.

Any who… let us get on with the “Just so you know…”

I Had an Epiphany and it Hurt

Friday, February 11, 2011

Ever had an epiphany just reach up and slap you in the face? One of those moments where clarity becomes so bright sunglasses are required. Yesterday I received such a slap; it knocked the sunglasses off, an epiphany.

By definition an epiphany is:

(1) a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential nature or meaning of something (2) an intuitive grasp of reality through something (as an event) usually simple and striking (3) an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure.

Calling All Followers

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Yes, you; pick up the phone. We need to talk. I have a few short items to tell you and I need to your help. Both are worthy of reading on.

Yesterday I was absent because of a virus attack. No, it was not the flu type but rather the cyber type. I was sitting here minding my own business when out from behind the World Wide Web I was attacked. Guess what?

I’m Bringing it Out of the Bedroom

Monday, February 7, 2011

I do not know when it happened or even how it happened. But I have lost faith in my bed partner. Have you ever lost your faith in someone? For this reason I am bringing it out of the bedroom.

There was a time when I longed to sleep with you. After a day of struggling through the diversity of adversity I longed for your comforting support. I craved it, I needed it and you were always there.

What Does Friday Mean?

Friday, February 4, 2011

Exactly what does Friday mean? Is it a beginning or an ending? I guess it depends on your perspective doesn’t it? For me Friday has become sort of a “welcome home, sorry about that” kind of day.

I first complete my post and commenting thing, and then I move on to the welcome home part. This is where I have to make decisions and preform several small educational lectures. Generally I start with a brief informative discussion with the house ghost.

What is the State of the Union?

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

I sat down here to write some whimsical little tale about my adventures yesterday and my mind went blank. Sometimes that happens you know. Perhaps I’ll just catch you up; Wednesday is a slow day in blogville.

Let me start by saying thank you and I’m sorry. Let me extend a warm thank you for all the lovely comments on Mondays Toilet post. I’m sorry I had so many of you worried even if for a split second. It just goes to show you anything can be a story, just change your vantage point.
