Red Box of Death

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

I am extremely busy with my small architectural project and I did not have time for this. Apparently the "Red Box" of death is making another round through the blogosphere. I want you to know I will continue to follow everyone but ....

Until this situation has corrected its self I have removed the blog roll widget from my blog. It's not like I get a ton of comments anyway but to have my page display as if I have cooties is just down right wrong. I've never had cooties, fleas maybe but never cooties.

I must now return to pulling my hair out, one hair at a time. :)

PEACE...

Removing the roll seems to have cured the problem.

Holy frijoles, Jules! Hadn't heard of it, and now I'm scared. Don't want to google it, cause I don't want the cooties. How do you prevent it?

Thanks for sharing. Happy Wednesday! ☺ PS...Love you and your blog even without the blog roll. ☺

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. There's nothing more infuriating than having people not come to your webpage because someone you've linked to has had their website hacked.

I have never heard of this before. Is others getting this red box? or is this some sort of joke.

I love having my blogroll on my page because then I can see when favorite blogs have posted. But now I'm thinking I should remove it all. I've been already removing certain blogs. I'm seeing this malware crap all over the place lately. Is it a Google plot?
This is so down heartening.

I haven't seen the red box, but I did get a heads up that a link in my side bar linked to a blog with malware and have since removed that blog. Hate to remove the whole thing - it would take me a whole day to put it back!

I haven't seen the red box before, but it seems there are just constant problems now. I was just having a temper tantrum as I can't get my reader to load and can't see the blogs I'm following. This whole situation has become very frustrating.

Anonymoussaid,

Al lot of people have been having problems with Blogger for various reasons, myself included. Hope this fixes what's ailing you.

And are you sure that Red Box of Death isn't really a harlmess glob of cherry jello?

I've never heard of this, either, and I too am scared. Especially since fleas love me.

I usually bypass the malware warnings if it tells me the blog I'm trying to visit only has content affiliated with a website, since it's often just a link--but it's worrying to see all the warnings pop up.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I didn't know that blog rolls can cause the hacker problem to spread. Darn and I've been hacked before. Sad that some people (hackers) can find positive things to do with their skills, brains and waking hours!

Take care, Jules, & good luck with your project!!

I'm so sorry. Don't tell me we'll all have to remove our blog rolls just because some terrible people want to put mischief into our lives. And boy, do I understand about doing extras when you already are on over-load. Love and peace

Good luck with the workload, Jules. And I hope the blogosphere is cootie-free when you return. These cyber-glitches always come at the most inopportune times, don't they?

Sooooo annoying.I just revamped my blogroll; I desperately want to keep it, but now thinking twice. So sick of malware crap.

On the plus side, I solved a few problems by switching to Firefox.

Hi Jules.
I'm back with great internet service at last. I sat down as soon as the instillation guy was done. I had one of those blog rolls last spring and it froze my blog up big time.
