Absence in More Ways Than One

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

I do not know who, or if anyone will get this but in case you do, I have been totally sick. On top of being under the weather it seems Blogger has decided I’m not worthy of being in your dashboard. Great just what I needed, another way to be absent.

Let me start by apologizing for the first form of absence. I contracted some major bad stomach virus over the weekend, I presume from the dirt I was working in. I spent 2 days in the fetal position and seriously felt the cold bathroom linoleum a blessing. At least now I can sit up.

Then I felt shunned by followers only to realize Blogger thought me too sick to be on-line. It seems Blogger is going through another change and it has selected me as the dead weight.

In the near future your entire dashboard is going to have a new appearance. Change always involve hick ups, so I can only assume for those of you not receiving my blog updates the two are tied together. No worries, I need a change too. Hopefully my afternoon will be spent updating my template, providing the storms cooperate.

On the other side of things, I took my last trip to the unemployment office this morning. Yes, that horse has run its last race, I’m done. Am I sad, no. Funny thing happened on my way to depression.

An ex-coworker phoned, one who remembered me and needed help. Friday I will be stepping back into the field of Architecture in order to feed my stomach virus. It is not what I want to do but it is what has been presented for me to do. The good thing about it?

I get to work from home, punch no clock and answer only to the dogs at my feet. It is not a forever thing but it is a thing.

In synopsis; I’ve overcome the stomach demon, there will be a new look here soon, I’m out of unemployment but I have a rainbow, temporary work.

I’ll do my best to catch up with you all and leave my little smiley faces where I can. If you are having issues like mine (fewer comments), remember it is summer and Blogger is having alter ego issues, it may not be your followers at all.

Happy Hump Day!

Peace…

You are not the only one! I tried unfollowing and then re-following 2 other disappeard bloggers; worked for 1, failed for one. I followed you here via Twitter; actually, one of the only reasons I joined Twitter in the first place was as an adjunct to my blog, but I often see blog posts there before the dashboard. So, I've been trying to follow as many blogger friends as I can on Twitter.
As far as employment - yay! Even if it's not what you want to do, you don't have to punch a clock and it will help keep the synapses firing. :)

Nothing like paying homage to the porcelain god. We call that having a Buick day...cause that what it sounds like on the other side of the door. ;o) Hope you're feeling much better.

I've had blogger issues too, and am holding out that it will be fixed soon. That's so difficult in this 'gotta have it now' day, isn't it?

Hooray for the work! Glad you can stay at home while you do that. (I worked for Fluor before I stayed home with the kids...not sure I could go back to it.)

Happy Wednesday! :o)

I hope you're feeling 100% soon! That's great news about the temp work, even better that you get to work from home. I would work time and a half if I never had to step foot inside another office for the rest of my life. That's how much I despise working in an office.

Hmm, maybe that's why no one is visiting me either. I doubt it. Oh well, I'm just going on hiatus then.

Sorry you've been so ill and hope you're on the road to recovery. I did find one of your post last Friday, but the problems I am having is followers whom I have followed for ages when I comment I have to write in my URL and sometimes I come up as anonymous.
If I get an anonymous comment I don't usually read it as it always turns out to be rubbish, so I presume that's what my followers think when they see my annonymous comment come along.

Let's hope blogger gets it;s self sorted soon .

I tell you, Jules, Blogger is getting on my one last nerve. S.T.U.P.I.D I write this knowing that Big Brother Blogger could be watching. Whaaaa!

I'm glad about the new income. God does provide.

I've just about given up on blogger. I now just accept the blurps and hope it will all return to normal.
So sorry about the stomach bug but hopefully it will soon pass and you'll feel stronger.
Take care of yourself.

I rarely use my dashboard. I go down the list of people who comment on a regular basis and visit them first. I'm too busy with life right now to just visit anyone. Does that make sense.

Sorry you were sick. My daughter was super sick for awhile and luckily I got a flue shot. I'm glad you've got a temp. job and from home.

Oh, Jules--I hope you're feeling better. You and I have been running some parallel lines here... feeling sick, unemployment, little jobs that pop up unexpectedly. Much to be thankful for, even if it seems dire sometimes.
There is a rainbow, indeed. Yours always radiates warmth. Best of luck with your new project!
(Blogger is a pain. I got switched to that new dashboard format as well and I don't like it. Somehow, I got it switch back to the old style.)

Sorry, Jules, to hear about the stomach virus. There's nothing worse! I hope you're completely better and ready for the new job assignment. (Perfect timing on the gig; the universe is working with you!) Yes, I've received fewer than usual comments lately, and not sure why. Blogger is definitely having some issues these days!

Blogger's been having a lot of problems lately; I hope they get things stable again soon. The shutdown seemed to throw everything out of whack.

Congratulations on the job! :)

I am so very sorry that you're sick Jules!!!! & more sorry that I haven't been a better blogging friend with all the craziness going on.

BTW I wondered what was going on with some of the followings, etc. I've had some weird emails/comments lately about that.

I have one more hurdle to get through later tonight in order to sell my house FINALLY.. so please pray... so I can start moving on Thur. If everything goes ok, I will have to be out by Sunday night and into my beautiful apartment by the forest and only 7 miles from work, instead of 30. I am nervous... but hopeful!!!!! Ok, more nervous right now.

I sure hope all in well in your world and life! I promise to be a better blogging friend after I get moved and settled. I am so ready to be 'settled' and then maybe I can even come visit you some time by friend! :-)

Take care of yourself!
Big Hug,
Coreen
