10 Days and the Planets Have Aligned

Monday, May 23, 2011

I know it has been 10 days and I am sorry about my absence, but life handed me a break. It was neither planned nor self-imposed just dealt to me and I ran with it. What else is a girl to do?

No, I did not get a job or anything  that grand, it seems all the planets aligned and everything happened at once. In stepped life and in no shape or form could I step past it. So this is what ten days away with all the planets aligned looks like.

It starts with Ms. Twister coming home from months of air travel and lots of tip-toeing through the house. I have to remember how to cook for two again, and darn tomorrow there will be no left-overs.

Every piece of lawn equipment we own has broken; two lawn mowers, a leaf blower and a weed eater. I think all this rain and the grass growing so tall is definitely due to a planetary shift.

What has now turned into a bi-weekly thing, transporting a friend to a pain management doctor. Fours hours later and she seems to only suffer pain while at the doctor.

My father loaned me a weed eater. I stopped by to pick it up and ended up laying a floor. This will be followed by painting the same apartment for him, today.

I have planted till I can plant no more, but learned boat shoes work well for gardening in the rain. Why do squirrels bury half eaten nuts? Don’t they have an expiration date?

I have constructed and installed a rain barrel. I had no idea Kentucky was full of survivalists but apparently it is so. The lady who sold me the barrel said they keep her hopping and in business. Plastic I have learned is a must for survival, who knew?

I have used and abused muscles I did not know I still had. I have blisters on both hands, scratches all over me and I have a tan or so some lady thought.

While in Lowe’s today a woman asked me if I had been to the beach? I was confused but smiled and said no. What was she looking at I’m white as snow? That is when I looked down at my legs and realized…

Mud when applied just right can pass as a tan.

Again, I’m sorry to my followers for being away so long. I just have had quite a bit going on, more than I care to put in a post. Today I will paint that apartment, tomorrow pain management and hopefully soon normal will return.

If you are here from Kathie’s Like a Box Chocolates, WELCOME. Please drop me a comment and say hello.

I will be making the rounds as time permits, so please be patient.

Peace…

Wow, you have been busy! My yard bunnies have been gorging on my garden. Ordinarily I'd be okay with sharing, but I didn't plant that much, so it kills me to see them snip a pepper or tomato plant off at the stem!

Sorry about your friend...I'm sure she appreciates you taking her to the doctor and being with her, even if it's an unpleasant experience...

The dandelions are in full force in our yard. We're going to have to do something soon. I was never great with lawn care...

I took off for a little bit too--I planned it but still, I had lots to do around the house and I wanted to concentrate on writing. I did some spring/summer planting too.
Glad you got so much done. :)

Mud as a fake tan...hmmmm...that might just do in an emergency! As for the squirrels, it's prob the males. Just like humans, they eat/drink most of something and then put the tiny bit remaining back into the larder. :)

I'm just glad to know you're ok. I was starting to get worried about ya. Life throws us a curve every now and again and we just have to roll with it.

Don't forget to take some time for yourself, though!

Anonymoussaid,

You have to take care of life, yourself, and your friends. Good luck with everything and bless your heart! I hope your planets lining up are not rogue planets.

Borrowing a weed eater led to laying a floor - isn't that how life works sometimes?

Life tossed me a few curve balls, no mud or rain barrel though. Just laid out stuff to work on art. Hubby is going fishing, hubby is going to go target practice with the guys. Hubby is going to take our daughter for her lst driving experience....but NO!
No one went fishing, cancelled target practice and guess who took daughter driving. She has never been behind the wheel. She asked Dad, but he was busying mowing the lawn and drinking wine. mmh, we could call this some unique new hobby, but it isn't. Fine mowing with liquid legs. Take Care, I love your mud tan, sorry about the blisters! Happy to see you are back!

Ah Jules, sounds like you've been bonding with the earth (and friends). You never need apologize for that. I'm looking forward to a bit of that myself... whenever I can find that kind of time!
But I do know what you mean, I've been absent a bit myself lately, and feel bad when I can't check in w/everyone... we have such a wonderful group of friends here.
Glad you are well. :)

Anonymoussaid,

So sorry, Jules, that you've had such a rough time. There are the good times and the bad. Some people lately are getting flattened, and so when I wake up each morning safe, I count my blessings.

I'm with your other followers in saying I'm glad you're back. And thanks for taking time to stop by my blog. You're a sweetheart!

How rude that woman was at Lowe's. I would never negatively point out people's hue.
