New Creation Blog Fest & More

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

My lovely fairy friend Summer over at “My Inner Fairy” is hosting a blog fest today. To which I thought would be very simple, look here are the rules:
  1. Pick one ending sentence from last years stories, your favorite one that you wrote.
  2. Write one brand new starting sentence for a story you have been thinking about, or something off the top of your head. But it must be your first sentence.
Sounds simple, yet most of you have a ton more material than I to pull from. I do encourage you to pop over and check out the other entries. I do have other items to get to so here are my entries.

For my ending sentence:
But can you hear…   the whisper of the wind?    Check it out.

For my yet to be written:
All Abigail wanted to do was sleep and yet the mere sight of her bed stole her breath away.

Yet to be written, don’t ask. It is a story in my head that has been mustering for 2 months now. Abigail does have a story. Why the link to my ending? As a rule my ending line has nothing in common with what the story builds you to, thus the link. You will have to follow the link to understand.

Now on another topic. Mr. “Famous, Gonna be a rockstar.” Alex thought me special enough to hand an award to. I thought it fitting to thank him during a blog fest because he actually taught me what in the blue blazes they really are.

Alex of Alex J. Cavanaugh fame has been a most inspiring follower. Though he is a man of few words they are just what you need to hear. For him to consider me special was an honor, my hat is off to you my blogging buddy and a most heart felt, sincere thank you.

As for passing awards on, it is like pulling my hair out, it hurts. All of you followers are special to me but I would like to pass this on to:

Vicki Rocho @ Rambles & Randomness, a new friend who has a great sense of humor and a killer pair of pants.

Summer Ross @ My Inner Fairy, a special blog friend and yes the host but she has cheered me into doing something with all these crazy stories floating around in my head.

Mary @ Giggles and Guns, I just love her cartoons, sense of value and she just makes me laugh.

NR Williams, Fantasy Author, because she just E-Published and she needs support. Check her out on her blog tour.

Last I would like to add I have succumbed to a schedule. My intent is to post Monday, Wednesday and Friday but being female even that is subject to change. I need the extra time, the goal is to write and hurt myself doing home improvement!

Until Friday,
Peace…

Congrats on the neat award. You certainly deserve it. I like your ending sentence best. But endings are always best to me when they're haunting. Have a great tomorrow.

Wait. It is tomorrow! Whoops. Roland

Hi,

Neat: co-ordinated sentences, they could be from one piece of work.

This I've noticed is becoming a recurring theme within this blogfest! What does that say about usas writers? ;)

Congrats on awards, too.

Congratulations for the award!

I like the way you ended your story with a question. I've never thought of doing this before, but your ending has left me wanting more. Great last line.

Poor Abigail. What has happened to make her bed frighten her so? I hope she gets her full story soon.

I love your ending sentence. The beginning sentence is intriguing--I wonder what caused her to feel that way about her bed.

Great story. That's last line fits it perfectly.

Your opening line works well: What's the big deal about the bed? And then we read on to find out.

Anonymoussaid,

I add my congratulations.

I saw your comment on Karen Walker's post and came over. I was following you awhile back but then I got a Blogger glitch and had to start over with followers. So I've signed in again to follow.

You have a lively and interesting blog! I love your black and white photographs on your January 1 post!

Aww, congrats on the awards, you definitely deserve them.

Don't you think schedules are so restrictive? But without them, I end up in chaos.

Good luck on the home improvement. I've done it several times in different homes and it is such hard work but man oh man it feels good when you get done!

I'm seeing this blogfest all over. I can't think of a good opening line to follow my last line. Okay, here goes nothing. I'm on my way over.

Hey Kentucky Woman, great entry in the Creation Blogfest. Apologies to Summer, I missed this somehow. Also congrats on your award and to those you passed it onto. Lovely.

Don't know if my blogroll to you is working yet, so I thought I'd give you advance notice of the Getting Published series I'm hosting, starting next Wednesday. I'll be hosting real live authors telling us how they got published. What a blast! Hope you can come by and join in the fun and awesomeness.

I've just got no idea how to stick to a blog schedule. As long as I can get 3 good posts out a week, I'm in blogging heaven. Good luck with yours!

Anonymoussaid,

That beginning sentence is interesting. Why does the bed take her breath away??

Thanks for sharing your words in this blogfest. I signed up late for the New Beginnings fun, but I'd love to hear what you think of my two sentences.
