My Last Post

Thursday, December 30, 2010

This will close the blogging year for me, my last post of 2010. Does one truly close a year? Do we file it away in the memory portion of our conscience, only to use it as reference? What really is a year to remember?

For me I will be starting the New Year in exactly the same place I started the last; under-educated, unemployed but hopeful as ever. Yes, I said hopeful. This past year taught me many new things; including the fact hope comes in small comment forms.

One small comment after another led me to smile. Smiles led to a tinge of hope and hope led me to, “Oh, yes I can.” It has been your consistent comments that have allowed me to believe again in, “The world truly is my oyster.”

You my readers have changed me, rearranged me, put me back together and allowed me to believe in myself again. Thank you seems so shallow but I am ever so grateful for every last one of you. I hope in some small way I have returned this.

Not to let anyone down, I have a list of small attainable goals for 2011 and they are:

  1. I will take my writing seriously. I began blogging to write anyway the pain, only to find a voice. You have encouraged this process, thank you. I want to take the outlines I have generated and turn them into works of word.
  2. I will actually create a writing space. To totally re-do a small room in my house as a writing space. I will try to capture the process in digital form. That ought to good, a hillbilly with power tools.
  3. Get back to serious art. Yes, actually throw paint on the canvas and load back the ink in my pens and sketch more.
  4. Update my blog page. New artwork, add a recommended book section to help my fellow authors, and of course update my rainbows. I think I need a few more.
  5. I will be more honest with myself. I have come to realize as adults we tend to know what we need or want to do only to talk ourselves out of it. Honestly there nothing we cannot do if only we would knock that bad angel back into last year. I will practice earnestly telling myself “I can.”
  6. I will continue to fight for the underdogs of the world. Whether it be the shy one whom another berates with slurs or the misunderstood who just needs an ally. The world is getting smaller my friends and it would be such a boring planet if we were all cut from the same mold.  You don’t just wear one shirt, do you?
  7. I will continue to do what makes me happy. Doing what makes one happy leads to fulfillment. The money will come when the powers to be see fit. This is my faith for the New Year.
  8. Finally, to take care of myself. I’m not getting any younger darn it! Throw out bad things, pay attention to what I need both physically and mentally, to heal thy self.
Those are my goals for 2011, will I reach them? I can only say, it will be me and only me to stop myself. For you my friends I do have a wish though.

For you I’m wishing for a new light. A light to open your eyes and guide you into a beautiful new year never dreamt possible. A light that sheds illumination to all the possibilities right before you and because it is light you have the courage to reach out and grab hold of those dreams. A light you can follow right into soulful bliss.

New Years day I have a post ready for the “Eye Candy” blog fest over at Rambles & Randomness. Another thing I learned this past year, what a blog fest actually is.

Happy New Year!

Peace…

I began blogging to put my thoughts negative as they were down on paper, I slowly began to get a different view of life thanks to my few blogging friends and the self help books of Paul McKenna, Then Arlee Bird did his A to Z fest and boy a new world opened up. I gained more followers and friends. I thank you Jules for your friendship and look forward to coming to your wonderful country.
Good luck with your goals.
HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Yvonne.

A hillbilly with power tools...classic!

I don't know if enough can be said about the blogging community. The support and encouragement; the hilarity and the pathos....I think many of us have benefited and I'm glad to have met you :)

I hope you have a wonderful new year filled with open doors and incredible opportunities!

A very nice set of goals there :) I too fight for the under-dog, and it even comes through into my writing (when I don't mean it too) my big goal is to write book 2, before all those who've read book 1 hunt me down *lol*

Jules,
a very nice post and thank you! I feel honored to have met you and hope that all your goals do come true this year! It just takes perseverance and keep working away. We, or at least, I am here for you! and look forward to a great new year...although I tend to be like you; no new year is really there; just an opportunity to change our thought process, yes?

Wow, Jules, you just wrote my biography!! Seriously, this is an awesome post & we have so much in common threads of our souls! I have so many of the same plans as well as needs. Like doing what makes me 'happy' & 'taking care of myself more'. As a mom most of my life has been taking care of everyone else and putting my boys happiness first. They have been telling me for a while to 'relax' and do what I want to do now. Even the past 1 1/2 weeks with all my boys home, I was a busy little bee cooking, baking, cleaning... until they told me to relax and sit down. :-)

It a year since I started blogging and although I have learned and grown so much...l I am still alone.. but HOPEFUL too!!!!!! I know he cares about me and I know he has things to work out within himself. It's a process (I know first hand) when you find a way to both 'be there for your children' and 'allow yourself find happiness too.. without feeling quilty'. I've been through that 'process' and am still a work in progress!! :-)

I am so glad that I met you, Jules!!! You have tought me so much & I appreciate your friendship more than you know!!

Have a Wonderful & Very Happy New Year!!!
Hugs & Many Blessings,
Coreen
