I am in Mourning...

Monday, November 1, 2010

This Monday morning, I am in mourning. Sitting here I find it hard to string a thought into a sentence, a sentence into a paragraph and so on. My emotions are full of heartache, making it difficult to write. Have I lost my summer companion?

Being in such a fragile state I realize distraction is what I need, I crave. Distraction is of what I will write. Follow along if you dare but cohesiveness I am afraid you will not read.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “From dust to dust?” Well it is in the Bible and in case you are into the paranormal. Those ghosts you seek? I think they partied at my house, got their dust particles intertwined and now are scattered all over my furniture. Oh bother, I’m in mourning.

Have you heard of the web site, “People of Wal-mart?” Well it has bled over to Sam’s Club. Saturday in the entrance stood a woman with rainbow colored, Pippy long stocking hose; a multi-colored South American cape, all over a plaid blouse that was neatly tucked into her multi-colored spandex. Surely she had a party to go to? I was in mourning and I dared not laugh.

A simple distraction but I spent time daydreaming. Realizing that after tomorrow our Television channels will have about 6 hours of airtime to fill, I started to fantasize. No more bad hair, clothes do not fit Politician's; and I wonder what the Gecko lizard and those wonderful E-Commerce babies have been up to? Oh, I’m in mourning.

While on vacation I found the coolest of surf shops, strolled in and fell in love. The clerk thought me strange but it truly was love at first sight. The moment I saw those rugged curves and sculpted shape, I feel in love. Then my love touched me.

My love wrapped around my extremity with the softness of the clouds and took my breath away. I brought my love home.

I am in mourning, I feel coldness in the air and my new love must leave me. This is why I mourn and my new love?

The most comfortable pair of flip-flops I have ever owned. Farewell my new love, until we meet again.

Winter is upon on us and if my feet get cold I get mean.

Happy Monday!

I am sure the flip flops are feeling the pain too!

I for one will not mourn the demise of the political adverts. Had enough of them after the first airing.

Cheer up! :)

I am one who pictures what I read--not a pleasant picture, Jules, but a hilarious one! Thanks for my first laugh.
Sorry for your loss.

You had me worried the entire time until the end. Book a trip to Hawaii. I've never been, but I hear the surfs up.

I totally understand!! 3 years ago I bought 2 pairs of the most comfortible, easiest to walk in and adorable White and Black pairs of flip flops. Leather and on sale too! First my beloved black ones got eattin by my son's dog. I love the dog, but oh I was upset just a tab. :-) Then just this past weekend I was 'forced' to hummm.. recycle my white pair of perfect flip flops. Just wasn't enough of the bottoms to safely walk in. My heart hurt saying goodby on the way too... humm.. the 'large' recycle bin in the garage. :-) So sweet that you shared your flip flop story with me today. Thank you my fellow mourner! :-)

Oh so loved this post!!

Hopefully you will make it through with some warm and toasty socks! Winter won't last forever, unless you live at the North Pole...

Hey. if you got those toe socks, could you still wear your flip flops? :P

Am totally not ready for it to be Monday, could you tell?

Happy week,
Karen

As old man winter breathes down our necks, I sincerely feel for you. Lately, my feet have weeped from 8ish in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. "They cry let me out of the shoes. Help me."

I love flip flops. I call mine flippers.

Oh my... you really should post a warning prior to your blogs. It is quite a dangerous thing to be sipping iced tea and read your blog. Iced tea is most uncomfortable when snorted out one's nose from insane laughter!

A bit less to mourn weatherwise here in Los Angeles, but plenty to mourn otherwise.

I know!!!! (like my niece Mia says when she has a "brigth" idea) - think outside the box: wear them with SOCKS!!! you just have to loosen up a little the fabric between the big toe and the next to fit the flop (or the flip, not sure) and voila!! you have your brand new winter sandals ;) - have a great week.

I'm in mourning too. It's the first day of Nano and I'm having such a difficult time finding time to write with my parents around!

Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
