Oh, It's You!

Sunday, July 11, 2010

As I sit here searching for a topic that stirs from within I sense I’m being watched. It is an eerie feeling to sense the weigh of another’s eyes covertly watching from a distance. Your mind will play tricks on you, you begin to develop paranoia and finally you will blurt out, “Who is there?”

The response I waited for was not what I expected. For I had heard no sound of intrusion, I had seen no shadows move from the corner of my eye and yet I blurted out the command, “expose your self.” Which to my surprise they did.

It was not a single pair of eyes I was seeing but rather three, six eyes in total. As I looked into those eyes that had invoked such a feeling of dread, I laughed. My feeling was unjust and I apologized for the mistake.

What I had felt was the stare of eyes that belong here, and the feeling of dread was their intent. They are watchful eyes, eyes that do not judge. These are eyes that understand and seek nothing more than a kind hand, a place to call home.

When I look within these eyes I find a desire to please. No questions are asked, just please repay me with a smile. Look deeper within the colored pools and you will see it is the simple things that matter; your time is number one.

So looking back into these eyes I proclaim, “Thank you for being patient, yes I’m almost done, go find your balls and we can have some fun.”

Sometimes we over look the simplest of friends and companions, we tend to take them for granted. So today step away, be thankful for your furry friends and go throw a ball.

THAT WAS REALLY GOOD!

thank you for suggesting. you're writing really snaps me - makes me slow down, sit up straight, lean in. and honestly, it intimidates me. not in a bad way but in a way that makes me want to look deeper.
write deeper.

i get mixed reviews when i attempt to do this. people say i lose my natural voice. even so, i like to do it. YOU do it soooo well.
