iPhone 4 and Shower Epiphanies

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

I’ll bet one of the first things you did right after you stood in line for that iPhone4 was to take a shower. Get all squeaky clean and ready to face the day, didn’t you? Have you ever thought about what this little ritual actually can tell you about yourself? Mine was full of epiphanies and it went something like this.

As I stepped in and instantly became engulfed with the warm soothing water, I felt joy. I had music playing in the background and soon started to feel the tension ever so slowly slipping away, that Zen feeling was returning. OH, OH, that is my favorite song!

I found myself singing along and this was a shower epiphany. “What is that noise?” I asked. I continued to sing along but all the while questioning that strange sound. “I do not have cats, yet it sounds just like two cats fighting?” Never missing a word to the playing tune.

That sound, OMG, it’s me! I must tell you the epiphany is I made a wise career choice when striking female rock star off my list. Now I know why the dogs get so excited when I sing, it hurts their ears. Stop singing and continue with your shower before you are arrested for animal cruelty.

Continuing on to the cleansing portion of the ritual I had the epiphany of the invention sort. Why is it just as you get soap applied to your face you drop something that requires a visual retrieval? Better yet why is it Johnson and Johnson has never made an adult “No Tears” shampoo?

Retrieving my dropped article I now was trying to complete my bathing ritual when another epiphany occurred. I was standing there again enjoying the warmth of the water, imagining I was caught out in a warm spring shower when I realized my shower has an alarm.

Oh no! The sound I most dread while taking a shower and so I braced myself for what I knew would most definitely send me running to the safety of the bath mat outside my shower.

Someone had flushed the toilet, end of the hot water, end of shower.

Do you have a shower epiphany or are you a tub person? Whichever you are, share your epiphanies with me, lets compare notes.

PS: Sorry about the iPhone 4 ploy.

I'm definitely a shower person--no time for baths--take too long. Last time I took a bath I was feeling really sick and didn't feel like standing and just wanted to soak. Baths are fun when you're a kid--maybe if I had a bunch of toys to take into the bath with me I might like it more. Of course I think I'd want to have a larger bathtub to give me play space.

I am a bath person I like to have a long warm soak after a hard weary day. PLEASE don't mention phones, if you want to know why there is a poem I wrote last week about cell phones.
