Blind Faith or Desperate Prayers

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Do you have blind faith? No not the religious sort of faith but the daily sort. If you find yourself trying to keep up with this fast paced world, then I fear you DO have blind faith. But is it blind faith or desperate prayers?

Blind faith is what you have when you perform a certain action and expect the usual result. Desperate prayers are what happen when blind faith does not comply.

You have faith that when you spend a day doing yard work that you will able to complete the rest of your “To do” list tomorrow. Desperate prayers are what you spend the next morning saying while you are trying to get your body to function properly.

Blind faith is what you have when you hit the “on” button to your computer and walk away. Desperate prayers are what you say when you come back to find a black screen and the hard drive humming like a 747.

Then there are the times when desperate prayers turn to under the breath cursing.

Like when you have blind faith that flushing the toilet will do just that, only to look down to see the water level at the rim. Cursing the toilet you race to remove the lid and again curse the fact you do not have a spare hand.

Blind faith knows you can make it to the bathroom in the dark only to find someone left her rubber ball in the middle of the floor. Suddenly you are on your rear end, cursing the fact you even bought those rubber balls and wondering what happen to the toy box trick?

You have the utmost faith that turning the key to your front door will unlock it, only to have the thing snap in half. Door opened but key inside, you curse the fact you have no idea where the spare keys are or even if you one.

So you still think you do not have blind faith? Next time you are driving on a divided road and a car passes you, you think of blind faith. You had the faith that the passing car knew exactly what the little yellow/white line meant and as it passed it waved at you.

Kobico, at least you have a good skeleton to your home. Mine is 40 and I do understand.
